Seen, Supported, and Understood
About Your Therapist
Hi! I’m Monique, the Founder of Blooming Mind Therapy and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida.
I specialize in trauma therapy and EMDR for adults who are ready to understand and heal the deeper roots of anxiety, self-doubt, and recurring emotional patterns.
I believe healing happens when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported within the therapeutic relationship. I also believe that meaningful healing must involve both the mind and body, because unresolved experiences are not only carried cognitively — they are also held within the nervous system.
Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, high-functioning, and self-aware, yet still feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, emotional disconnection, or relational challenges. Often, they understand themselves intellectually, but still feel emotionally caught in the same patterns. Therapy with me can help you make sense of these experiences while creating the deeper shifts needed for lasting change.
In therapy, we work toward greater self-understanding, nervous system healing, and self-compassion — creating space for more clarity, resilience, connection, and peace of mind.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I strive to create a space where you feel safe enough to be fully yourself, while also gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I will support you, encourage you, and walk alongside you as you move toward the goals that brought you to therapy and the life you want to create.
My Approach
With a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I bring a holistic understanding of both mind and body to my work. I am EMDR-trained and incorporate evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches that support emotional healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
My style is warm, collaborative, and structured. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and never rushed, because meaningful healing takes time and can’t happen under pressure.
I use EMDR therapy as a core part of my approach because I believe lasting healing involves more than insight alone. While understanding your experiences is important, unresolved trauma can continue to live within the nervous system and shape emotional responses, beliefs, relationships, and patterns in daily life. EMDR helps process these experiences at their root so deeper healing and relief can occur.
I also integrate somatic awareness and parts-oriented work through an IFS-informed and ego state lens. Somatic approaches help us understand how experiences are carried within the body, while parts work helps us explore the different emotions, beliefs, and protective patterns that have developed over time. Together, these approaches support deeper healing, emotional regulation, and a more connected relationship with yourself.
My goal is not only symptom relief, but also to help you feel more present in your life, more grounded in your body, and more at ease within yourself.
I also value the connection between emotional and physical well-being. Factors such as stress, sleep, movement, and daily routines can significantly impact mental health, and I support clients in creating sustainable patterns that contribute to overall wellness and quality of life.
More About Somatic Awareness & Body-Based Interventions
Somatic awareness focuses on noticing and understanding the body's sensations, reactions, and internal cues as part of the healing process. I incorporate body-based awareness and experiential interventions alongside EMDR and trauma-focused therapy to support grounding, emotional regulation, and deeper self-understanding.
This work can help clients feel more connected to themselves and more capable of responding to emotions with awareness rather than overwhelm.
More About Parts Work & Ego State Therapy
Many people experience different internal “parts” of themselves that carry emotions, beliefs, protective responses, or coping patterns developed over time. These parts often emerge in response to stress, relationships, or past experiences. In therapy, we work to better understand and connect these internal experiences, creating greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and self-compassion.
This process can help foster a stronger sense of inner trust, reduce internal conflict, and support a more integrated relationship with yourself.
